Where Did YOUR “Extra” Time Go?

There are times when I just have NO idea what to blog about, and today is one of those days!  I don’t feel like writing about websites, SEO, Social Media, or even mentioning the “G” word.

So today, I am going to remember a simpler time – like when you wanted to find a phone number, you had to go to your broom closet, pull over a chair, and lug down that HUGE yellow phone book that was on the top shelf. Does anyone else remember that? Do you  remember having to use the Encyclopedia Britannica to look up information? Or how about searching the card catalog in the library to find the call number of a book you were looking for? Have you ever stopped to think about all the time we spent searching for information? How is it that nowadays, with all this information virtually at our fingertips, anytime and anywhere, we still don’t have enough hours in the day? What have we done with all that “extra” time?

I’m not going to stop there. Let’s look at food. We have an assortment of fast food restaurants on just about every street corner. But we don’t even have to get out of our cars to get our food, NO – we simply pull up to a box, tell it what we want, and drive to the next window to pick up our meal. HOW LAZY ARE WE? Just think, we saved all that time shopping for groceries, prepping and preparing food, and cleaning up dishes. What have we done with all that “extra” time?

I could go on and on about all the modern conveniences and technology available to us, and ask how we are using the time those things save us. But I would guess that the majority of people would still say, “There is just not enough time in the day.”

WHAT HAVE WE DONE WITH ALL THAT “EXTRA” TIME?
